After checkout you should have received both a confirmation email for your purchase and a registration email with a link to create a password and access your course. Please verify the following and let us know if you still have trouble:

Check that the course registration email did not end up in your email client's spam folder.
If the email is not in your spam folder, we'll need to check if your email address was misspelled during checkout. In this case you most likely wouldn't have received the confirmation email or the registration email. Please contact us and we'll check to make sure that you're registered under the correct email.

Will I qualify to be an interpreter after completing your courses?

American Sign Language Interpreters must have a high level of proficiency in ASL that takes years of practice and dedication. While our course can introduce you to ASL, you will need to go on and complete an interpreter training program.

If you would like to become a certified interpreter to interpret for the Deaf community you must take a certification exam that demonstrates both proficiency in ASL production and receptive skills. National certifications also require that you hold a bachelor's degree or associate's degree in sign language. Many people who want to become a certified sign language interpreter graduate from a collegiate American Sign Language Interpreter Training Program (ASLIT). You might check your local university or college to see if this is offered. The requirements to become an ASL interpreter can vary from state to state in the US. It is important to research the regulations and requirements of the state in which you plan to work as an interpreter.

How much time do I have to complete each course?

Once you've paid for the course you'll have access to it for a full year. We recommend completing each level in 5 weeks at a minimum so that you take the time to practice in-between lessons.

Most importantly, completing the online course makes you eligible for a certificate of completion.

Continuing education units, or CEUs, are awarded by Sign Language101, an IACET-Accredited provider, to demonstrate successful completion of non-credit courses intended to improve the knowledge and skills of working adults.

If you are not completely satisfied with your purchase for any reason, you may return it to us for a refund, store credit, or an exchange. Please see below for more information on our return policy.

ELIGIBILITY

All online courses can be refunded or exchanged within thirty (30) days from the original date of purchase, and which meet the following criteria:

You've completed less than 50% of the course
You have not previously received a refund for the course

All book returns must be postmarked within thirty (30) days of the delivery date. All returned items must be in new and unused condition, with all original tags and labels attached. Please note, you will be responsible for all return shipping charges. We strongly recommend that you use a trackable method to mail your return.

Refunds for books or any other products purchased on Amazon.com will need to follow Amazon's return process.

REFUND PROCESS

In order to request a refund, store credit, or exchange, please complete our Refund Request form. We will review your request and respond with confirmation or further instructions.

REFUNDS

After receiving your return and inspecting the condition of your item, we will process your return (excluding any shipping fees) or exchange. Once a refund has been initiated we are not able to reverse it. Refunds will be processed to the original form of payment, unless store credit or an exchange is requested, and take five (5) to ten (10) business days to appear in your account. No refund is due if you request it after the thirty (30) day period. We will notify you by email when your return has been processed.

We do not grant refunds for any subscription services unless otherwise required by applicable law.

EXCEPTIONS

For defective or damaged products, please let us know within thirty (30) days of the delivery date to arrange a refund or exchange.

Sign Language 101 reserves the right to refund users beyond the thirty (30) day limit in cases of suspected or confirmed account fraud.

At our discretion, if we believe you are abusing our refund policy, we reserve the right to deny your refund, restrict you from other future refunds, ban your account, and/or restrict all future use of the Services. If we ban your account or disable your access to the content due to your violation of these Terms and Conditions, you will not be eligible to receive a refund.

Who is eligible for the scholarship?

To be eligible, students must be residents of Utah, including children of military service members. Applications are prioritized based on family income levels, with those at or below 200% of the Federal Poverty Level receiving the highest priority. Other criteria include special needs and previously enrolled students in the program.
